That Time of Year...

Yes, friends, it's that time of year when your hosts, Dr. W & MB, once again contemplate the Happiness Index, the size of house to sanity ratio, the craziness of The Dog, the muddiness of the yard and all things locational.
Should we move?
Should we get a new(er) car?
Should we start stuffing money under the mattress, you know, just in case?
Should we reseed the yard or just pave it over?
Should we plant a garden?
Do we need a bigger house or should we take a trip to Ireland?
Do we need a newer car?
Should I get a new bicycle?
Should we add on?
Should we get a shipping container, put it in the backyard and turn it into My Office?
What, friends, Should we do?

I read this last night, but I paused, so that I might reflect, before responding.

I think you have to decide what you can live with and what would make you happiest.

I am prejudiced in favor of the trip to Ireland.

But I also think you deserve an office, and also more closets.

I think you should map out a five-year-plan for the yard and do a couple of things. Maybe you should only put grass in one part, and have lots of plantings and pots and boxes elsewhere. An oasis, but mostly grassless. Also, a peach tree. (that just might be me.) Personally, I am planning to buy lots of pots for the front yard to make everything more, y'know, dimensional. And also to plant swaths of poppies. And perhaps a briar hedge, aka, red rosebushes along the front.

Whatever you do, though, don't have it involve as much digging as you did last year. That digging made me tired in your behalf.

A backyard office would be most excellent, particularly if a hot tub lived next to the office in the backyard.

Yes, a hot tub, and outdoor office. And a cabana.
And Lisa, I'm with you on the little bit of grass and dimensional pot type things. Now if I could just get someone else to do it.

I've never seen your house, but my vote is ALWAYS to chuck everything and go to Ireland.
