Those of you who know me know that I'm fashion challenged. I recently bought a dress (at TJ Maxx thank you very much) for the much anticipated trip to NYC.
The problem? The dress (a fetching sweater dress in peacock (really? peacock?) by BCBGMaxAzria (any relation of Hank? I love Hank! Oh wait, that's different. Never mind.) the price tag said $240 (really? $240? did anyone pay that much for one?) ) is peacock, a beautiful blue.
Here's my question: what color tights do I wear? Black? I was watching that terrible Dateline Going for the Gold and this woman (the interviewer) was wearing a white dress with brown tights and I thought, will that be me? Will I look that bad? And the problem is, I would. I would look that bad. And not know.
Save me from my fashion challenged fate.
Oh. And I was thinking of wearing my new black boots? Yes? This will be okay?
And while you're at it, could you buy me a new coat? (one to wear with dresses. Yes, that's right, I don't have one). Because I'm fashion challenged.

Black tights are good. Yes to boots. (always!). If you wanted to be bold, you could wear another color of tights, because contrasting colors is kind of a thing right now--but black tights are great. Very chic. There are so! many! coats! on sale right now. And you need one. I can't wait to see you in the $240 dress! Once, I bought a dress at T.J. Maxx that was originally $120 (I know, a mere pittance compared to yours) that I waited out until it was $20. I am very proud of that feat. It is still a favorite dress.
I'm not a fan of the black tights with dress shoes thing, despite how popular it is, but with boots, now that's fabulous! And there's something about striding through NYC in boots that makes one feel so cool and kickass.
First I don't necessarily think you are fashion challenged I just remember you never liked to shop which I guess can contribute to one feeling fashion challenged. Anyway, one of my rules is when in doubt, go with black. WHy?? Well it matches with everything and isn't as tricky as white. I think black tights with the boots will be fab. Also get a great trench coat that ties. Nice!! It too could be in black. Send a picture of that outfit too. You can save it and bring it toLV also. You go girl!!!
What about your green tights with that green dress? Talk about fashion aficionado. I think you look good in any color of tights.
