I just heard his speech. Wow. Unbelievable!! You can go ahead and sleep. It won't have changed when you wake up.

The speeches have been made. It's over. Now we have to find our words again, because right now, I am almost speechless.

I'm hoping all y'all's enthusiasm is contagious...because I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Yes, this is historic; yes, this may be the precursor of the next great wave of change in our nation.

But having never gotten over 1993, I'm having a hard time getting really excited.

But then--wow!

Didn't it feel like Christmas this morning? I felt a whole new hope coming.

I forgot to tell you this when I saw you this morning (BTW, you looked very bright and happy!) But I had your son in literacy yesterday and he was writing a story, 3 going on 4 pages long. More than any other student there. Jokingly I said to him, "Your parents must be English professors." And he said very proudly "yeah, they are!" It was very cute! You'll have to ask him about his story.

It's apparently all true, every bit of it. Overnight, the world did change and for once, it's for the better! It's even more exciting than a new girl band.

Hey! Utah didn't turn out to be the reddest of red. Oklahoma and Wyoming are even redder. I'm proud to be from an only 65% red state!

It is a happy day.
